Step Up Your Marketing For Your Boutique With These 6 Tips

To drive traffic to your boutique store or online shop, you have to make sure you are staying on top of your marketing.  We know you love your business, and you’ve poured your passion into it.  To be a successful business, you need to find customers who not only want to shop your products but want to keep coming back for more.

What works for one boutique, might not always bring in traffic for another, so it’s essential to try out different methods to find a method that provides results.  Whether you implement various techniques or start small, marketing will play a huge role in your company’s success.

Here are six tips to help you step up your marketing for your boutique.

1. Set yourself apart.

Let’s talk about branding. Do you have a logo? Does your shop have social media pages with quality photos and engaging information about your store? Will customers be able to recognize your images without even seeing your store name.  Does your mission statement reflect the identity of the business?  You want customers to remember your business, so you’ll need to create a personal experience for the customer from the start.

When they walk into your store or shop your site, you’ll want to create a memorable interaction for the customer so that they can tell their friends about their shopping experience.

Hire enough employees to help manage online orders and provide top-notch service for your in-store customers.

2. Build Your Email list.

Give customers a reason to sign up for your email newsletter.  Offer a discount, exclusive deals, or tips on how to style an item that’s trending.  The idea is to convert visitors into paying customers.  By creating an email newsletter, you can send follow up emails to customers to remind them about the latest sale, or new products that just arrived.

Set up a schedule to send emails.  Keep in mind sending too many emails might be distracting and annoying for your customers.  Start by sending a message once a week or once a month.

3. Start a loyalty program.

The goal is to keep customers coming back to your store to shop your merchandise.  Give them incentives to do that by creating a loyalty program that rewards them for making purchases.  Start by offering a discount after the third or fourth purchase, or maybe a free accessory after a minimum spend.  Shoppers will remember your business if you create a positive experience for them and save them money.

4.  Create helpful guides.

Share valuable and engaging content with your customers. Make your site a one-stop shop for all things fashion, so your customers know they can come to you if they have any questions about styling an item or what to pair with their new purchases.

Set up a blog for your business or create videos to solve any questions your customers might have.  You can also use Instagram to let your customers know they can submit questions about anything about your shop.  Share your answers with your audience so you can reach other potential shoppers.

5. Be social

Let your customers be ambassadors to help promote your brand.  Create a hashtag for your business and monitor any mentions to see if customers are posting pictures about their purchases.  Thank bloggers who have written about your shop and customers who have left reviews online.

Use social media to promote any brands you carry and explain why you chose to feature this item in your shop.  Post new items and any current sales to lure customers into shopping at your store. Don’t neglect your messages, as this could be an opportunity to answer any questions about a product, which could translate to a purchase.

6. Get involved in your community

Partner with other businesses to help spread the message about your fashion boutique.  Reach out to nearby hotels, restaurants, spas, and hair/nail salons to see if they will let you leave business cards at the front desk. Offer those employees a discount when they shop your store.  If they have a memorable experience, chances are they’ll be happy to tell other people about their experience at your shop and why other people should go there too.
